Apartment Hunt: DONE!

Charlie and I have an apartment! We went to sign our year lease today. We are so excited. It really didn't take us too long to find a place. We called about probably 25 or so and ended up going into 2 and picking the first one we saw. We are right across the street from a high school, caddy corner to a shopping center and most important of all less then a mile to the beach. We actually have an ocean view from our bedroom. We walk maybe 6 blocks, 2 stop lights and we hit the sand.. Our move in date is new years. New chapter of our life which we are really excited about :) I will have pictures as soon as i can. We will be official residents of Oceanside.

Update

Well I have been slacking with these posts majorly...

Our trip to Puerto Rico was wonderful. Nothing could have been better. Our rental car was cheap, we didn't have any troubles like that usually pop up on a vacation, we didn't spend a lot of money, beautiful weather, great waves, and it was JUST FREAKING GREAT. We almost didn't leave..

We drove across country again! I don't think I will ever be able to get Charlie to do it again with me lol..We went from NY to TX in a straight shot, it took us about 23 hours. We were so happy to make it to his sister Jess's house and just pass out! Although with 3 year olds, a dog, and the babe we didn't sleep for long! We had a great time visiting with the Williams and we were sad to leave them. Rachel has fallen back in love with Charlie ( especially since Richie was no where to be found ;-) and we enjoyed spending sometime with them. We stayed about 3 days and then went straight to San Diego! That drive took us about 21 hours and we arrived in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Now we are just adjusting back to life here in Southern California..By that I mean it's the middle of November and 70 with the sun shinning, don't worry about us we are adjusting just fine :) I have set up orientation for school and now we are on the hunt for apartments! We are planning to live near Oceanside Pier and there are quite a few listing so I don't think it will be much of a problem finding a place!

Our next venture is Thanksgiving. We are planning to go to Indiana for the weekend for my Grandmother's 80th birthday. Charlie is going to get a chance to meet some of my family and eat some Southern cooking!

Rincon, Puerto Rico here we come

Just wanted to let everyone know that tomorrow Charlie and I are leaving for Puerto Rico! We are ecstatic! We arrive in Aguadilla around 10am with Steve and Dana. We have rented a car to make our way South towards Rincon where we will be staying at Alex's house (family surf buddy from the beach). WISH US LUCK!

Pennsylvania

Well we went to PA this weekend for our last shabang. There was only 4 of us but it was beautiful there. The leaves started changing so the view is just reds, orange, yellow and a little bit of green left! The weather was pretty nice too. Definitely cool but the sun did peak out for most of the time we were there. We brought Johnson with us too, we did a hike, of course the boy's fished (and caught some big ones) and we made a fire. It was nice and relaxing. We also shot some bebe guns which explains a few of the pictures! There is also an old grave right near Kyle's house and some of the headstones are from the 1800's. We went at night trying to capture "creepiness" but we couldn't see anything and it just wasn't that scary. The headstones are so old that you can't read anything on them either. Charlie and I will miss going up there for the weekends. Here are some pictures! And a few videos from the big catch's.

I got in!!!

Well I don't know how many of you know that I have been going through the tedious and annoying process of applying for schools for the spring term. I applied to about 8 different schools; 3 CalState schools and the rest private universities. Because of the California budget cuts in the school systems I was pretty sure that I was not going to get into the California State school because of the fact that they are so overcrowded but guess what..I GOT IN! Not that it is some renowned or five stare acclaimed school but I got into the one school i really wanted to and that was California State University of San Marcos. School starts January 23! I am really excited. Charlie and I are planning on moving to Oceanside while I am going to school. We are finding some great deals on places by the beach and we are really looking forward to just having our own place again! I am so relieved to have gotten in and found out as soon as I did. I was expecting to wait a few more months..Now I can rest assured and completely enjoy myself on our vacation to Puerto Rico which we are going on this Saturday!

Other then that things are great, we went to PA this weekend and I won 100$ from a scratch off!! Can you believe that? I didn't think people even won any real money from those things :-p

Robert Moses Lighthouse

Charlie and I went for a walk at the beach to the Robert Moses Lighthouse. It was really nice. I got some really neat pictures because there was a storm rolling over us. It was still nice to be out. Not too cold, just right for Johnson not to overheat.. Looking at the pictures can make you feel like it is some desolate place of the Eastern Coast-not exactly New York. I had never been and really enjoyed it. I did a little research on Robert Moses and he was responsible for a lot of building during the latter part of the 1900's here in New York. He developed a lot of the expressways and I think to this day a lot of his work is controversial. A lot of his work promoted highways and not public transportation which signals signs of racism to me. I have also heard that due to the way he developed the bridges and off-ramps it prevented buses to ever travel much outside of the city and back then buses=immigrants & black people. But who am I too judge because hey I am one of the millions driving on his developments!

Ok now you can look at the pictures!

Oh btw, now that the fall time is here all the leaves have begun to fall and change colors. It is SOO beautiful and I am constantly in awe because this is a rare sight for a Southern Californian. We are planning to go to PA this weekend for our last shabang before Puerto Rico and our cross country drive and I am hoping to see trees of red, orange and yellows!
